Kitchen shelves question

Want to install heavy duty open shelves (at least 2 parallel) to store seldom used glass bowls, casseroles, Dutch oven, etc. Need the shelves to run the width of a kitchen wall that includes a corner. Think the shelves should be 12” wide to accommodate over sized items. What brackets, distance apart, what kind and length/width of wood, possible protective lip, and best installation advice to insure stability.

Use plumber's pipe. Get the black kind...if you can't find that, spray the pipe with paint. Be sure and attach on 16" center studs. Put the pipe through the shelves, using fittings to hold in place (NOTE: some shelves just lay on the pipes and some have holes drilled where pipe goes through shelf). Here are some photos.
