My husband had these leftover triangle pieces from a lean to project. I gathered them and tried to make a star but I just wasn’t getting it. I returned later to see that my daughter figured it out for me!

Here is what I started with. Five triangles and various sizes of wooden stars. I did sand down the triangle pieces before I painted them.
Here it is ready to be put together.
I attached it with small pieces of scrap wood and wood glue. I also put a picture hanger on the back for easy hanging.
Next, I painted it all white and then added the red stripes. I layed out the stars to see where I wanted to put them.
I painted them blue and distressed the edges after they dried. I also distressed the rest of the big star. I cut a few of the stars that were hanging out over edges too.
I’m so glad I numbered both the stars and where they were to go. It made it a lot easier when I was ready to glue them on!
And here is the end product. I hope like the whimsy of the star as much as I do!
Happy 4th of July everyone!🇺🇸
