I want to use stone stepping blocks for pet memorials. I would like to put a picture of each one on the blocks with their name. Does anyone know how I could put the picture on the stone & seal it?

Mod Podge it on and cover with marine poly for a water proof seal.

I've not used Mod Podge before or marine poly. Where would I get the marine poly & how do I apply it?

Hi Myra, I was going to say the exact same thing that Lina said. Just be sure you do it on a day when the stone is dry and there is no rain in the forecast. Wishing you the best.

Hi Myra, I agree with Lina and Linda. And be sure to let the Mod Podge dry completely before exposing it to the elements. Are you painting your pet's name on each block? Patio Paint (brand) is good for that. I have painted decorative patio stones and they have held up.

My thoughts are to put a picture on the stone along with painting their name. I want to use them like a marker/headstone because they are buried at the back of our yard.

Should I use a photograph printed on photo paper? The poly won't run the ink? I've seen where people have used Mod Podge & put a paper picture on something, then sprayed with water & wiped the paper off leaving the picture.

Mod Podge is available at craft stores and Wal-Mart. Marine poly is available at most paint stores, possibly even Wal-Mart, I have not checked.
