Hi Tilda,
Have you been pruning your hydrangeas? If you have, that might be the problem. Some hydrangeas bloom on 'old' wood and some bloom on 'new' wood. If you cut off old wood when pruning a bush that blooms on old wood, you're cutting of next year's flowers. If you're not sure which type you have, this article might help:

Did the plant get enough water? Did you fertilize? Does it get sufficient sun? Is the plant very young or is it well established and just not blooming this year? If it received enough of the first three, check for an infestation. Too much water could also be a problem.
Often, the reason that hydrangeas don't bloom is that people have cut off the flower buds during improper pruning. ... The big-leaf hydrangeas are the ones that can be blue. The “Endless Summer” varieties are supposed to bloom on both old and new wood, but they have not done well in Maine. And they aren't native.

my nursery guy said never ever never ever water the top of the leave. Water the soil only. But what really worked fo me was when he said to add a handful of Epsom salts and water them in. My hydrangeas took off like mad, the Leaves are a beautiful green and the flowers are in abundanc. Since that Epsom salt tip, I’ve used Epsom salts on everything but succulents. It’s amazing! magnesi in the Epsom salts do the trick I guess.
