I did an acrylic paint pour and sealed it with Rust-Oleum 2X. Can I use a 2 part epoxy over the Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Clear Gloss without ruining the pour?

Hi Linda, I am not sure, I would think that the epoxy mix would seal it and no other top coat? I haven't done the epoxy yet, just spray poly. You might got to You Tube and search Rick Cheadle, he has lots of tutorials that are good, I am still a beginner and am learning some of the techniques this way. Good luck! Can you post the answer once you know? I would be interested, too.

HI Linda, Can you post a picture of your project on this thread when you are done? I hope you enjoy Rick Cheadle on YouTube. There are lots of other artists, too. I want to do a canvas using the lazy susan to spin it around. Have fun!

  • You might have to consult Rustoleum to find out. You'll have to heat the epoxy as it cures to remove bubbles, so you may not be able to.

Called ProMarine and they told me that I should use USC Spray Max 2K High Gloss Clear (very expensive) and then after it dries use their epoxy... I'm just going to put a couple more coats of the Rustoleum on the panel. Then use the epoxy in the future...

I wouldn't risk it. It could easily ruin it.

Talked with ProMarine and they suggested buying USC Spray Max 2K High Gloss Clear (very expensive) and then after using that use the epoxy. Just going to use the Rustoleum a few more coats and in future use the epoxy

Why not continue with what you started with?
