no... the water and moisture will get behind them and they'll start falling off.
I would think the steam and constant wetness would loosen them and make the corners peel.
I don believe they would stay on very well.

I wouldn't... to much chance of water penetration behind them... and that means mold and structural damage..... do it right or not at all
