Cut the leaves into a fan shape and they stand up quite often on their own.
I was always told that you need to leave tulips leaves in tact after blooming so that they get nutrients for next year. But am not sure of this. I do not have good luck with tulips so just grow daffodils.
Hi Ton,
I cut my tulip leaves down to about 4-5" from the ground once they start to yellow at the top. The bulbs still get the nutrients from the stalk and it looks much neater. I hope that helps. Wishing you the best.
