I have never done this, but have seen it done many times on TV re-do shows.
Were I going to attempt this, I would read everything and watch every video I could find on line. And I would certainly investigate thoroughly the ins and outs of concrete...what kind, what mix, what tools are needed (trowels, buffers), polishing, sealing, care, etc.
And I think I might try to do a trial run with concrete finishing on a smaller scale before I tried it on kitchen counters...maybe a small table outside.
When I watch these shows and videos, everything looks so easy with a voice over, "run your trowel over the area until it is smooth..." but it is like no matter how many times I tried, I could never get that darn tape on sheetrock to stick down smooth...the pros do it in one hand swipe!
