I have a flood light in the back of my house. help!
Is there such thing as a Motion light bulb or do I have to replace the entire switch and bulb compartment to get it to be Motion activated?

You need to replace the fixture itself. The fixture has a sensor that detects movement and the lights come on for a period of time that you set when you install the fixture. This site will explain in further detail. It may take a night or two to fiddle with the motion sensor to get it where you need it to be. I have several on my house. Scares creatures of the night away and great security if properly placed.

I think a motion light bulb is not available. I think you need a motion detector. It can be connected to your porch light or wherever you need it. Our team at Hometalk, will give you more suggestions.
