How to DIY a small desk?

I need a small desk for my 15yr.old granddaughter to do school work on - Due to size limitations, it needs to be about 3ft in width.

Do you want to DIY or spruce up or make over a second hand find? Thrift shops, Goodwill, etc., are great places to find second hand furniture inexpensively. With a fresh coat of paint and some personalization, it can have a new life.
Try places, if you live near them, a K-Mart, Target, and Walmart. I had a small desk, from one of these stores. You can find one that's easy to assemble. Price about $50-60. They had several colors, and I'm sure you can find one the size your looking for.
