Need to know if I can correct a mar on my marble top vanity

Just noticed that there is a rough spot on my marble topped vanity near our laundry room. Think it may be that some fabric softener which I was putting in smaller containers dripped out and sat there and I did not see it. It is a dull spot on the top. Any suggestions to make it shiny again? Thank you
