You could use fusible web tape to iron your fabric together kind of like a pillow case, then use some velcro to attach it together in the back.

Yeah, use Liquid Stitch. It glues 2 pieces of fabric together without having to sew them. It's a permanent adhesive. You could add a zipper too so you could wash the covers.
Check out the remnant section at your fabric store for good deals on upholstery fabric. Wrap your cushions like you would a present, doing "hospital corners". Use double sided tape to hold fabric to the old cushion.
