  • To me everything has a "common sense" place to live. Everyday items within easy reach and lesser used items either in the back of cabinets, down low or up high. Here are some awesome suggestions to get you started!

My house is small with an equally small kitchen and I have a lot of stuff, yet most of it is crammed in there. Luckily I have shelves in the garage where I keep roasting pans and large serve ware that is not used on a daily basis.

Keep silverware in drawer under cabinet that has plates and bowls. Put glasses and cups near coffee pot and refrig. On higher shelves put casserole dishes and serving bowls and include lids upside down on each for easy stacking. Place items you don't use often in cabinets above refrig. Put crackers, chips, etc. in cabinets above oven or stove. Each individual does it their own way but this should get up started on upper cabinets. Lower cabinets maybe for pots and pans under stove or oven along with cookie sheets and metal casserole pans. Plastic items can go in lower cabinets with matching lids. Small lower cabinets for serving trays or plastic garbage bags, canning jars, etc. Drawers can hold other items for cooking, dish towels, wash rags, serving utensils such as tongs, etc. Under sink maybe store cleaning items, small baskets for little items. You can buy vinyl covered shelving that stands along and can help with organizing, even for corners. This just hits the high spots but you get my drift of initial organization probably. It's really up to you and you can of course fix one cabinet, then decide it's not serviceable for you so flip! Good luck!
