I would get my carpets cleaned. I use Orthro Home Defense. Spray well, let dry and vacuum. You will have to also treat your yard for fleas. You may have to spray a few times because fleas hatch really quickly. Orthro works, be patient.

I used a mixture of 20 Mule Team Borax and powered carpet freshener. Sprinkled and worked the mixture into the carpet. Vacuumed an hour or so later to get rid of the adults. The mixture works it way into the carpet and when the eggs hatch, the larvae eat the borax and die. Might take a couple of doses but it works. Then once a week, sprinkle the borax down again and vacuum. We had indoor/outdoor dogs and cats and never had a problem after we started doing this.
