You can use chalkpaint. It will adhere well and you dont need to sand or prime.
You can sand, prime and paint laminate as if it were a solid wood piece of furniture!
I have done this before. Forget the chalk paint! Lightly sand all surfaces you wish to paint. Next apply a coat (paint on or spray on) Zinsser white pigmented shellac. This will create the bond so that paint then sticks to laminated surface. Whe primer is dry, pant in your favorite color.
I have had good results with spray paint.
