Sometimes a neighbor has the same code in their opener and when they open their garage door yours will open too. You can change the code in your opener. If you have the brand and model, serial number you can google the manufacturer and get a manual online which should tell you how to change the code.

Wow that would freak me out. Here is a site with some things to check:

Oh I had one of those darn garage doors in a suburb of identically built houses, the builders use the same opener on all the garages, and my neighbor would open my door several times a day..... arghhhh.

You can look up the brand online, and download the manual, and it will tell you how to change the codes on the unit itself. If that doesn't solve the problem, then you need to buy a computer board.

I looked up the brand online and they had a little electronic computer board I brought and changed the one in the unit. Problem solved. Was about $75

A neighbors remote is probably triggering it.

I agree with above comments. Somebody in your neighborhood has the same code as you. Probably very nearby. Change your code. Best wishes.

My opener lets you access the setting in the clicker and main control. You just have to reset the numbers by moving tiny switches to match on both.
