Life is better in flip flops. I’m totally addicted to craft projects. If I see it or dream it, I know I can do it! Whenever I’m creating something with my hands, all my stress instantly melts away. It’s satisfying for mean when creating something new, and once your project is done it makes you so happy. This project is no different it will make you smile and add some cheer to your home.
Things you will need:
Wood
Paint
A nail gun
Pencil
Jig saw
Sander
That’s all for this project, it is and easy one.
You'll need 1/4" plywood I had Lowes rip it 6 times into 3/4" strips that were 4ft long
Next, you'll bring your boards home and work on attaching them on the back side. I just used a scrap piece of wood that I had. When I went to attach my boards I just used my nail gun because its fast and easy.
This next step was the hardest part! You have to free hand the shapes. I just looked at a flip flop and used my pencil to outline the shape onto my attached boards (like a peanut). After I mastered that and loved my outline, I grabbed the jig saw and followed my lines. Once that was done I sanded the edge and painted it all white.
Then, I cut a flower out that I drew on wood and cut it with the jig saw.
Now, I grabbed 2 pieces of wood that were cut with a 45-degree angle on each board at the tops. This is where I will put them together to form the strap, if it's not perfect its ok the flower should cover the angle anyway if the flower is large enough. After that the fun part begins. It’s time to paint it any way you want. I just laid my extra wood boards over my white flip flop and sprayed them which made stripes. After that dried i just nailed the strap on and cut off any wood that was hanging over the edges on the outside edge of the flipflop using the jig saw. Next apply the flower on top of that by nailing it in place.
Here they are done. You can do just about anything you want to make your flip flops fun and colorful. Since they are all done by hand each one varies a little and makes each one special. Great for your summer porch or pool backyard decor.

You state the boards are cut to 3/4”. Why so small? Then put them together, I’m not following. They turned out cute!
