How to draw permanently on a mug?

My employer, in an effort to save money on paper cups (and save trees!), gave us all white mugs (standard, everyday porcelain mugs) imprinted with the company logo a couple of months ago. That's great, except that all the mugs look exactly the same. So I tried writing on mine with a permanent marker, and it lasted a while, but with repeated washings the writing has faded a bit, and eventually I'm sure will fade completely. What can I use to write on my mug so it lasts?

Use Sharpies.
You might consider using nail polish and dip it for marble effect? You could just dip one side. If you would like to try it, it is VERY easy and takes only a minute to do. You can get special porcelain pens on Amazon that work really well. The mug needs to be baked in the oven to set the ink.

Put some pens with the company's logo in the mug. Leave it on your desk. Buy a mug with your name on it. Does he really care if you actually drink out of it? He just
wants to save pennies. Why not just buy your own disposable cups? Buy the
kind with a lid on them. Just say that you prefer to use disposables for safer
sanitary purposes. Gail
