Hi Ludi, usually accent walls are chosen to draw the eye to a certain section of the room. If you have a long room, its usually one of the smaller end walls. Rarely is an "accent" wall a large wall as then it wouldn't be an accent lol it would then be the color of the whole room. Hope that helps!

    Hi Ludi,

As a general rule, the best wall to choose is the one you see as you walk into the room. In our house, we see a long wall as we walk in the front door, but we see the shorter wall as we walk in from other rooms in our home. We chose the shorter wall partly for that reason, but also because that shorter wall has the fireplace. So for us, it was a combination of the first wall we see when entering from other rooms and a room feature that we wanted to accent. I hope that helps. Wishing you the best.

Ha- I just went through this, and I have no visualization skills, so I took a large sheet near the color I was thinking and I taped it up on each wall to see how it wowed me. It did help to my confidence in opening the paint can.
