Decorating with a coastal look

I mostly decorate with rescued and restored items and I'm doing pretty good so far, with a cream and blue striped couch, a straw like carpet, gauzy white inside/outside curtains and white shelves. I'm wondering what I could put on my walls. My previous decor was all dark furniture so everything had to be changed out. Any ideas?

Paint your walls the same blue in the sofa. Any other dark furniture can be painted antique white.
Use Flower pots one on top of the other to make a Lighthouse and in the top pop a Garden light - Paint to taste.. Seashell Mobile might be nice too.
A darker shade of cream to almost a beige and add some green pillows.

For the walls, obviously lighter art. Please don’t limit yourself to cutesy beach/boat art. There are so many great prints out there. These are on “canvas” and pricey, but a bit more interesting.

Yoi can also do a grouping of great old hats, antique gloves, etc. For ease, get a piece of foamcore from the dollar store, paint it the same color as your walls (sides too) and mount on the foamcore.
Add some simple mirrors outlined with thick rope. (You can do this yourself) find seashells and put them in a shadowing frame to hang. You can even put driftwood on your wall and then attach or lay on the wood some small air plants. Make a mirror outlined with sea glass (etsy sells these supplies). Small metal open weave baskets filled with sea glass or some of the air plants would look nice. I would also make use of "up" lights behind couch etc. It makes for nice lighting. Also glass vases with the fairy lights and also a large sea foam colored candle in the middle of lights or again some of the sea glass with these lights. The reflection on the colored glass will be beautiful. They also make sea grass you could use. Or any tall wispy fake foliage. You can also make your own beach signs on driftwood. seascapes, shell structures. In our house we also display half hull models my husband makes (he paints the sea scapes too) look for art at yard sales. I bought a sea scape a week ago and my husband says it is good and prob late 19th century. I paid $2 for it. My daughter just gave me a shell wreath, hang oars on the walls, We live very near the coast but I would say our look is more eclectic than sea shore. Oh yes, I love sisal rugs, they also wear surprisingly well.
