  • Pantry space on the wall, yes. Underneath the bar no, plus bad for resale. Think about where to relocate trash, recycle and pet feeding station. Place bar stools there to replace the loss from the wall where you currently have your breakfast bar set up, unless there is enough space to float it in the room. I would make the pantry to match the same height as existing cabinets for continuity. Just do not make it too deep. Play with size by using painters tape on the floor, then decide.

I'd go to a home improvement big box store and look at premade cabinets. They come in all configurations; width, height and depth. They don't have to match what you currently have. Being painted a contrasting color would be interesting.

Have you considered moving the pantry out of the kitchen? One of those tall wardrobe cabinets that you can assemble yourself could be placed around the corner or even in the garage. My pantry is in the shed and I only keep a handful of the most used items in the kitchen.

My husband and I built a "food cupboard" and had it on our porch, (we were renting). We just moved into our house so it is now in a shed. One thing to remember if it is out doors like ours, make it mouse proof. Ours is also insulated all the way around. Our cupboard is 8" long, 7" high and 3" deep. We put it together with screws so that when we moved we could break it down and move it. Its not possible to lift otherwise. It also holds things like pressure cookers, bread maker etc.

you can always make it a little country looking by taking milk crates or wood crates put them on their side use twine, wire ties, whatever to attach them together. Easy Peary, if you don’t like the look where everyone can see what you have place doilies, handkerchiefs or whatever over the openings.

I would suggest removing your trash can/dog feeding area and replace with counter height chairs. Then remove your table/chairs and replace with a tall cabinet (that would match your decor) or a built in pantry in that area.

HI, Have you thought about finding a hutch / cupboard and place on the wall where the table and chairs are? These are available very inexpensively at a thrift store.

I have one of these in my kitchen and it gives me extra storage space. I also keep canned goods on a shelf in the basement. Sodas / juice out on a shelf in the garage (keeps them cold in the winter)

First of all thanks for the great pictures! You have lots of storage space and a nice wall to add more. Where are your dishes kept? If they are in the cupboards I would make shelving on the large open wall and keep dishes there, you could also use canisters on such shelving. Or food in jars. If dishes are elsewhere then you will need closed cabinets for food storage. But you have the light switch which should not be inside a closet and you can't go too close to the base cabinet next to the d.w. so that limits the size of your pantry. And where will you put your table and chairs? If you have someplace for that, you can certainly construct a nice tall, not too deep, not too wide food pantry.
