The first thing I'd do would be to check with your county's planning department to see if you need a permit to build this. Since there is wiring involved, and it's a separate structure, there might be building code issues involved. Better to have that info now instead of when you're done. How wonderful to have such a space, though--best of luck to you!
How awesome- I'm envious! You could adapt plans for garden sheds -thats about the size two would be end to end -- they usually have wide door openings, which you will want in order to move large pieces or equiptment in and out. . Be sure to get building permits or you could get fined.
Can I convince you to expand that to 20’ x 12’?
My reasoning is storage, which be they wood or metal. are usually 24” deep, particularly for sculpting supplies as well as finished pieces. With your 10’ width, that will leave you 8 feet of width for work and ”traffic”.
My bathroom is 8’ wide, and it’s not even a little big.
My kitchen table, only 28” wide, plus chairs on either side, tucked in, takes up 5 feet. With folks seated, its easily 7 feet.
I would ask that you measure the footprint that you use in the space you use now. Why go to all this work and have regrets, and crowding, later.
