I have 5 rescue dogs so the water bowls im afraid might buckle the wood panels. We are re-doing our kitchen right now it looks we are still in the 70’s. Lol

I would not put in wood, it scratches and is not water resistant. I have been looking at the new luxury vinyl planks that are 100% water proof. It looks like wood. When I get ready to redo my kitchen that is what I am going to use. Of course you could always buy the tiles that look like wood too.

I agree with Dee I put down LV tile in one of my bathroom and in my bedroom, hallway and living room. It looks good, cleans up easily, and I don't have to worry about spills or stains. I really wish if was out a few years ago. I put Pergo in the family room and it already has a few spots where water has raised the surface of the tile.

I know that Floor and Decor has waterproof flooring and water resistant. I would probably find something waterproof. Not sure what there warranty is. This is the luxury vinyl flooring not wood, but sure does look like it.

I would not recommend a laminate floor as they react more with water than a solid wood floor. A solid oak floor will buckle with heavy water damage but they generally lay back down. With a solid oak floor it should be finished in place (not prefinished). Those last layers of polyurethane will block moisture from getting between the boards. Laminate floor has layers for the water to seep into the the edges Perhaps with 5 dogs you might want to look at a wood-look vinyl floor. They have improved greatly in the past few years. For sloppy canine drinkers; place the water bowl inside of a larger plastic container, such as a dishpan.

Lifeproof (is the brand name) that we used in a recent remodel. We have 4 dogs and they can be messy. This flooring is 100% vinyl and is 100% waterproof. They have different colors and wood grain designs.

I have rescue cats and can tell you that vinyl plank or tile is best for cleaning up those water messes! I have one cat that thinks he is a Labrador and splashes around in the water and gets it everywhere! lol. I have tile in my kitchen and love it.

I looove the floating floors - laminate is a hard as rocks.... NO SCRATCHES....super easy to install yourself... there's no glue or nail.

They snap in together like puzzle pieces. My two dog and three rabbits can't scratch them.
