I’ve an answer for the person who asked how to fix their rusted-through wrought iron patio steps guard rail. I can’t find their post now, so will start a new one. Simpson StrongTie is THE nationally recognized manufacturer of all structural-Grade brackets/straps & much more. All of their products are tested & exceed all the Building Codes requirements. I just typed in “patio guard rail” in their search-box and then selected from the options. One must try searching using other key words, to find the products that will work for you. It’s not overwhelming if you take the time to read and look at their diagrams. When working with exterior applications & concrete, be sure and read what kind of required fasteners must be used to prevent future rotting/rusting/corrosion & galvanic reactions! https://www.strongtie.com/search?v=Patio+guard+rail%3Arelevance%3AproductStyle%3AOrnamental%3AfeatureApplicationMenuFacet%3AConcrete
I found this wire spool I know can be re purposed into something awesome. I was thinking light fixture by I would love any ideas on some way I can use it on its side not hanging down. It has such a great design that I would love to show off. Anyone have a suggestion? Photo is just like the one I found.
Before bringing in firewood full of hidden bug eggs & termites, it should be sprayed many weeks before then. Years ago, Diazanon was the pesticide to use, outside and let it air-out 6-8 weeks before burning the firewood. Diazinon is long/gone. So what do you spray on your firewood to keep the bugs from hatching in your house? Ive literally thrown the firewood on the patio to dislodge the crawling critters on the outside, but that’s not enough. Yes, I have wood boxes under the eaves, close to the house & that may be all I can do- is leave it outside and let the cold air in to get more firewood.
I planted perennials in pots this year because the maintenance team at my apartment complex uses weed kill all around the property. I live in Burlington, Vermont. Do I leave them out , move them to a more sheltered spot or bring them inside?
