I have absolutely no artistic talent, how do I get a good outline of large sunflowers (or anything) on to fence boards to be later painted?

purchase a color book. Find a picture of big flowers. remove the page and take to office max and have them blow up the picture to the size you want and wala you have your pattern to trace around on your fence boards.

You could google search for "sunflower outline." Print and enlarge. Or, you could print in pieces and tape together. Cut them out and then trace :)

My favorite tool for enlarging things is the black and white copier at Staples or other office supply.... depending on how large you want to go... choose the 8 1/2 X 14 size paper or the 11 X 17 size... I have even done half of a picture (or a quarter) just fold the original before copying. AND black and white is cheaper than color... always.

Hi Kelly, if you find your sunflower design from coloring book or on-line, remember your printer can probably enlarge the design and print it out. Suggest using different sizes so the flowers clustered are not all the same. You have a great idea that I'm sure will turn out wonderfully. Maybe after using a "stencil" from the printed ones, you'll get brave and free hand some of them. Remember, in nature, nothing is exactly alike! People included! :)

Have fun with the different shades of your sunflowers and leaves, stems, etc.

Hire a talented high school student to paint it for you.
