When using a sander what's the difference in grade of sand paper?

    it makes a huge difference, depending on what your sanding. If it’s s table, or hard wood floors. How hard or how fine you need to sand.

    A lot, how deep you want to sand? There is a fine grade that doesnt go as deep. Many different grades if sandpaper

    The higher the number the finer the grit. It should say on the package what that particular number is for (the low numbers are for rougher finishes like paint removal, the higher numbers are for the last sanding before painting or staining, or "finish sanding", etc.).     The higher the number on your sandpaper the finer grit it is. Like 200, 220, 300 and up. You would use this for something that would need a nice smooth finish, like cabinets or a nice table. When using a low number like 60, 80, or 100 grit. This is very rough sandpaper, especially used for really rough wood like pallets and pretreated wood And metal as well.
