I would paint them.
You can buy tile paint.
Some people use regular paint with a high-adhesion primer, acrylic, and polycrylic topcoat. I painted mine with Krylon Fusion paint. If you go that route, turn off any pilot lights in the area, and cover everything, because there will be over spray.

Take it a step further, paint and stencil for a high end custom look!
Clean with a deglosser to take some off of the shine, sand, prime and use tile paint.

They look like these plastic tiles I had in my kitchen. If they are plastic they will pop right off once you get them started. Then a little sanding on the wall. You can paint the wall or do what ever you want. If they are not plastic I would paint them like others suggeste.
Painting is the only viable solution. Rustoleum or Homax tub and tile paint kits.
Use an epoxy paint for long lasting effect. If you can remove them, I would and then you could put up bead board, wall paper, or peel and stick tiles.
