Hi Breni, you can buy put-to-gether book shelves from any online store, then finish them off with trim to have that built in look. And get that cute little thang on the couch to help! She can supervise...

check out this site and the Ikea hacks website, there are some great built in looks using ready-mades. The Ikea Billy bookcases are great for this, they come in different sizes and you can get doors for the lower shelves.

Ha! Thank you for the both suggestions. She's cute but sassy. She may be too bossy to supervise!

Hi Breni, do you have an IKEA near by? They have a variety of bookcases that would look nice in this area and they aren't that expensive. There are many ideas on Pinterest, too. The idea of using baskets under your coffee table would work really well, too.

I've seen lots of projects accomplished with wood pallets. Not knowing the depth/space where you'd like to do this, if you can find 1 or 2 wood pallets from some work project, (talking free here), they might work for you. Probably might need a size adjustment and painting but if you check out all the projects done with wood pallets on this site, you'll be inspired.
