I recently had my shower and tub redone. To save money we kept the vanity, floor, and walls. Now, I just can't stand the look altogether. Is there a way that it can change?? My husband thinks wainscoting and a new floor... But we will need to save up. Thanks for any advice!!

Add color! While you're saving for the new floor and wainscotting - paint the vanity bright white. Paint the walls a light color - there is too much beige in the room now. Then buy a new shower curtain in a pattern to complement the wall paint.

I would add some color above those panels on the wall, get a new shower curtain, towels and rug to add some pow to the boring beige.

Thanks!!!!! You're both right!!! That's probably why I can't stand it! It's so beige and boring! Do u think a pale blue for the walls and chalk paint in an antique white for the vanity?

I like white and blue stripes! I think it will make the room lighter and brighter!

Home depot has wainscoting kits that are easy to put up and not expensive. I did one of my bathrooms. A tip I learned about wainscoting is when you get to the corners and there are spaces, use a dowel. It fills in the hole and you cannot tell it is not part of the wainscoting. I painted mine white. but I think in your bathroom you need some color. A light blue gray would look fabulous.

One question is that tile on the wall? If so, get an epoxy paint and paint it instead of doing the wainscoting. Then paint the top part a shade lighter than the bottom. The grout on your floor can be changed with Mapei Grout Refresh. Great product, and does not need to be sealed. Blue and browns go great together. I would not paint that vanity it looks rich. I think you just need to brighten up with paint.

Thank you so much. I never thought to paint the tiles on the walls! I bought a green paint. It's light... But now after reading this, maybe I should use the green somewhere else and get a gray blue!? Thanks for your help!
