I have a Frigidaire dehumidifier that turns off because it thinks it's full. I think it is the fill switch. and was wondering if anyone knows if I can bypass the fill switch and just use a hose instead of the bucket.

Check the owner's manual. It should give you a diagram so you understand what's going on. Then check the FAQs in the booklet and online. If you have this problem, probably others have, too. Finally call the 800# .Ask for the repair dept. They may have a quick fux or a part to ship you. Good luck

Fix, pardon my French, and let us know how it goes - - knowledge shared is twice as valuable!

it could be shutting off because it is overheating, it is a safety feature...

Hi Marie, The bucket on the back usually triggers the on/off sensor when full, so check to see if the little pin or lever is stuck on the back - remove the bucket (unplug it) and check your manual to see where it's located. It could have broken off or is jammed. There are usually manuals online if you don't have it. If it's broken, you can probably order parts.

Thank you Rob. The little lever is still there. I checked.
