How to build a wall to wall sunken platform bed

Hi, I want to build a wall to wall sunken platform bed. Would it be smarter to build the whole structure in wood or use a metal bed frame and then build on top of that? I want to recreate a similar look to the photos below.

This will take a lot of head scratching to find the design that best fits your space. I like the one that has panels that lift to exspose storage compartments. My overall concern- how to change the bedding? You could incorporate a motorized scissor lift but that would add considerable engineering challenges and significant costs.
