Bathroom is 20+ years old. There is an old vanity, (which I redid 4 years ago) and a huge mirror stuck to the wall. How do I cover the mirror? I will buy a new vanity and maybe a storage closet, which will hide part of it. But what about the rest. Ideas please. Thanks

  • Paint, new light fixture, new hardware, new bathroom rugs, shower curtain, towels and a few well placed accessories. Maybe a decorative shelf and some sort of art piece. My bathroom is still the original builder grade from 1986, and I repainted in 2001 and it needs doing again. I feel your need for an upgrade!

Why do you want to cover the mirror? Build a nice frame around it. It makes the bathroom look larger. But, if you really want to get rid of it, take it down and put up what you want.

Just buy a smaller mirror, and glue it to the old one, then frame the smaller one around the outside to meet the old one!

Update walls with ship lap paper. Then frame your mirror. New lighting.

U say ship-lap. My did small bathroom over the winter. AFRAId it took me 2 months because of my bad back and bad knees but I love the end results. Everybody that has seen it does.

We took out our mirror and put up smaller ones, put a shelf between the sinks, re-painted the vanities, got new sinks, and made new counter tops from 2x6's. It was inexpensive and completely changed the bathroom! The new sinks were definitely the most expensive things; but you can find good deals on amazon.

You can paint the countertops, research on how to do that if that's something you would want to do. You can take the big mirror out and install a smaller one that is framed. Little things like that make a big impact. Of course paint the walls, change light and faucet fixture, new hardware
