We tore the ceiling out of our garage to heighten and expose beams. It looks awesome but feel we need to insulate somehow without loosing charm. We are turning our single garage into an art studio for my talented husband.

we would appreciate your help.

Thank You

I insulated our garden shed roof area by putting the insulation up and holding it in place with new chicken wire. I cut the wire to length to cover the roof from the center top to the eaves (cut each section only when you're going to put up the insulation in that section). I used a couple of slats to hold the insulation in place, then removed them as I stapled the chicken wire in place; this let me make sure the insulation was nice and flat and not sagging anywhere before I started to staple the wire from the eave areas up to the center of the roof. Worked like a charm, has kept the shed from getting too hot in the summer, and has lasted for 5 yrs with no signs of any of the insulation, etc. coming down. Good luck!!

Hi you could put solid foam insulation up there and cover it with cheap wood look paneling, or thin wood slats, this will give you insulation and still look charming
