Kitchen cabinet doors

My kitchen wood cabinets feel sticky after 20 years of cooking, wood burning, and etc. What is a good way to clean them to get them feeling clean again without stripping them and starting over. Thank you Barb

Murphy's Oil Soap is great! It's been my go-to cleaner for years.

I would purchase some TSP cleaner and wash them well. Using a soft scrub brush and tooth brush in any seams and around cabinet trim and rinse well. You may have to do this several times to get all the grime off. Dawn dish soap is also good at removing greasy grime so you might want to use that after a good washing with the TSP. TSP is hard on your hands so wear gloves.

Try a product called “restore” (available at hardware and building supply stores- paint dept.) which works by cleaning and dissolving the top layers of dirt and grease/wax without removing original stain. It allows you to “move“ the stain around to cover existing flaws or areas that have received more use and gives a very good finished look. Follow instructions (easy to use product). You can repeat its use to get the look you want using medium then 0000 steel wool. Use a suitable satin finish varnish that is compatible with product to finish.
