A quick and easy way to make a sign with spray paint, cardboard and a frame.
On the side of the road, I found this huge plastic 50” x 30” frame. I’m in the process of redoing the guest room and thought it would make a great welcome sign. It may have been thrown out after the glass or mirror in it shattered.
I love spray paint because it’s fast! With all the colors and types of spray paint they make now, you can paint most surfaces in a matter of minutes.
My guest room is centered around a multicolored cow painting called Bessie, that I found at a thrift store For $5.
So I wanted a bright color close to Tiffany Blue.
It certainly made it pop!
Next, I went dumpster diving. Because I love saving money, live for a bargain and enjoy the challenge of stretchIng a dime! I was in search of a large piece of cardboard.
My favorite places for boxes are behind superstores. I was hoping for a refrigerator box, but found a thinner 40” x 60” piece.
I took it home and spray painted it (with Chalkboard Spray Paint).
It took a couple of layers.
Then I cut the sprayed cardboard to fit and hot glued it in place.
I scrawled a quick message, then erased it with a damp wash cloth and wrote another.
Sign for a song!
