The house is brand new! The walls are very big and very bare. It seems like all larger artwork is in the high hundreds to thousands. It all seems like it’s just thrown on canvas however I can’t get that look any ideas?

I know this is not exactly what you wanted but we have a wall in the dining room dedicated to pics we have taken from travel. They are all different sizes and in different frames ranging in price but all under $20 each. We checked Marshall's, TJ Max, Target, Michael's, Pat Catan's and Tuesday Morning for frames. I took the time to make sure they were made of real wood too unless a special shape (circular, resin) or covered in metal. The project started out with enough pieces so it looked complete but it is also something we have added to every year. It is also fun to figure out the arrangement of the images as part of the project. Some pieces have moved when adding ones later.

If you don't go with pictures from your travels then perhaps family images from over the years, including if you have some really old ones of great-grandparents when they were children. Many of our travel pics for our wall were taken on our phones or point-and-shoot digital cameras. We then printed them on Shutterfly or even took them to Target on a flash drive. I always looked for deals on Shutterfly.

My house is small and the wall area I am talking about so far is 3 feet high and 7 feet wide. We may wrap around a corner to keep the project going in future travels and may have to modify as we add crown molding and new window treatments.

Buy a map on amazon. Deco podge it on a sanded painted board and hang it. You can get posters pretty cheap and buy poster frames. Pick a theme. Hang in Threes.

If you want to DIY.... you can buy a piece of plywood and paint it like a Quilt block and then add some trim molding around the edges to make it look like a picture.

You can hang a quilt up with a simple rod to hang it from.

If you want to buy something, you can buy a backdrop that photographers use to take pictures in front of.

Or you could buy a Wall Decal (these peel back off when you want to change it out).

    Hope this helps

Posters and poster frames are large and come in every style imaginable. There are shower curtains with wonderful 'art' on them that you can cut and frame - no one will know it's printed on plastic once behind glass. Visit Goodwill, etc. They always have artwork for CHEAP! If you don't like the art, buy it for the frame. If there are canvas art pieces, you can paint right over them.

You might consider stenciling one of the large walls. While time consuming, stenciling is not hard to do and is very inexpensive for a large impact. If you use a stencil color that is a subtle contrast to your wall color, it will add impact without being busy. Or go high contrast for high impact. For art, you can make an arrangement look like one large piece by framing around the entire collection with simple trim. You can also paint the area inside the trim with a different color which further makes a statement.
