Weeds, are a constant thing I have found. Whether store bought or made, the main thing is to get them under control. Then either after it rains or you water area well go pull. Yes wiggle them to loosen soil, then gently pull to make sure you get entire root. Also mulch or a lot of plants close together to block sunlight from them is good way to hold them off.

Roundup has one that is supposed to last a year. Make sure you get the right one, they also have one that is safe for grass, so you don't want to get that one.

  • I just did this myself. I will not use round up as it is toxic and bad for the environment and harmful to pets and I have a lot of pets. I used plain old white vinegar in a pump sprayer. Took less than anticipated. Then I had the gardener use a sod cutter to remove. Planted fescue and clover.

Three of the top five for 2018 are Roundup spray, Roundup Gel, and Roundup Extended Control. So I would say Roundup! Happy hunting. ☺️
