Not sure what your trying to organize. Big, little? Bath? kitchen? Crafts? More info needed. Otherwise, Dollar General, etc has a large selection or search for specifics in Hometalk

What are you decluttering? I use a lot of baskets. Also pretty flower pots or coffee mugs for pens and scissors. If you have a closet you can spare, you can get some pretty cool stuff at Lowe’s or IKEA. My son and I built a platform bed using those double cubes. I got canvas baskets at target and can hold a ton of stuff. I have 12 12x12 baskets. I use those vacuum bags you can get at Walmart for off season clothes, blankets. Saves a lot of space. Use your suitcases. The list goes on.i hope you can use some of this. Getting organized is a big undertaking.

Decluttering is absolutely cheap. It's also the first step in organizing. Pick a room to start in; you won't be able to do the entire house all at once. In fact, your kitchen might best be done cabinet by cabinet.

Let's say you start with your bedroom. Have 3 places to put things: things to keep; things to give away; things to throw away. You might need a 4th pile for things to relocate—"I wondered where that went!" Begin pulling things out of your closet. If you haven't worn it in the last year, you probably won't wear it this year, so put the item in the give-away pile. If it won't fit, put it in the give-away pile. If an item needs fixing, but you never have time to fix it, put it in the trash. You are not likely to gain extra time simply because you have decluttered. When you have finished sorting put back only the items in the keep pile. Take the give-away items to a thrift or charity, and put the throw-away items in trash bags to go to the curb. It's not easy to let go, but in a short time you won't remember having had the items. Do the same with other rooms.

Organizing is finding the best place for particular items. For instance, you can use a regular hanger to hold scarves: http://cdn.exquisitegirl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/hanger-scarf-storage.jpg Belts deserve a special hanger that makes selection easier. There are belt hangers for the clothes rod, and there are back-of-the-door hangers. Some use shower curtain rings to hold belts: https://i.pinimg.com/564x/d5/f1/63/d5f1634bef717e6010b01c762bed3336.jpg Make use of free space as best suits what you need to store. I keep my shirts (casual and dressy), jackets, skirts, dresses and dress pants in my closet. I keep my jeans, shorts, undergarments, jewelry, and other accessories in a chest of drawers.

If you have a collection treat it as a collection. Keep the items together and display them. Lets say you have too many scarves to fit in your closet. Drape them on a wall or over your bed. Turn them into art that you occasionally wear.

I suggest you do a search for how to declutter. Do another search for how to organize a closet, kitchen, garage, etc. You will need to engage the rest of your family in keeping things in their proper place. It's OK to snack in the living room while you watch TV, but dirty dishes and trash MUST be returned to the kitchen and put where they belong. Mail should be sorted when you bring it in, with junk mail going into recycling and bills and important information going to a desk/office area to be paid/filed.

I’ve always found it’s best to have a keep area, donate area and a toss area. Start by designating those places be it on a large area of the floor or large containers. Then just start pulling things out and don’t try to organize as you go. Once you see what you have start to separate things that are brok, never used or wore out don’t linger in your decision making. Start with one room or drawer at a time. Good luck!!

Coming from a family on a tight budget, I’ve picked up supplies at the dollar store for organization. As for decluttering, I do one room at a time. I put up things I want to keep in containers and donate things I no longer use. Happy Organizing

Declutter first and just dive in one room at a time. It's so much easier to organize once all the stuff you don't want is gone.

You might find some helpful how to declutter tips in this article I wrote. I went Tiny and pretty much got rid of everything. However my tips are helpful for less drastic type of cleaning out.
