Painting metal patio furniture

Rustoleum makes paint for metal in cans that you can brush on. Surely there are other brands as well that may have a satin finish.

I paint with a brush and use Rustoleum with a satin finish. They have a lot of colors in quart size cans that will make your furniture look nice.

Wanted a light color and they seem to only have almond. I was hoping for something more beige.

"(Rust-oleum)" Go to the Hardware... have them help you. I just brushed on Rust-oleum from a can & it worked super. You'll have to also get Mineral Spirits to clean the brush with & carefully read about the Mineral Spirits. I used a glass jar with a lid because you can use it over and over. You can pour it back into the container but I wanted to keep my used & new separate. My paint was shiny but I'm sure there are ones that aren't. And you can just get a small can, it goes a long way. I poured a little into a cottage cheese container that I had on hand, that way it wasn't as heavy as the can and I had the lid to put on during breaks & even overnight & it stayed fine. One hint, after you clean your brush & then go to use it again the residue from the mineral spirits will make the paint thin at first but you can fix it... I loved how forgiving this paint was & how you could go over areas. The mineral spirits gets it off of your hands too (I'm a messy painter). Anyway, Good Luck!

A paint store may be able to make a beige for you. Otherwise I have made some of my own colors by adding black, brown, and white to get what I wanted. Maybe adding some brown will get you the color you want.

Hi there Jean, before you start clean furniture first. If there is any rust, remove with a stiff wire brush. Once the prep work is done and everything is clean and dry, you are ready to paint. I would suggest using Rustoleum. They have loads of colors to choose from and built in rust protection. You might want to go with 3 coats of paint. Remember light handed spraying is the secret to success.
