Use a scoring tool to create holes in the wallpaper. Use a spray bottle with fabric softener and water to wet the wallpaper. Spray into the slits so it can work its way behind the covering. Wait about 10 minutes and then scrape off the paper with a putty knife

If you have a steamer it really helps, use a plastic scraper and scrape as you steam

  • Score and steam! Score, score score, then score some more! The more holes in the paper the better the steam gets in the easier to remove. Any tool rental will have what you need.

    Hello Har.

We have never used a steamer for wallpaper removal. We’ve had great success with the paper tiger wall paper perforator tool and spray on wallpaper remover products similar to these. Hope this helps you.

I have always used a 50/50 mix of hot water and vinegar in a spray bottle. Use the same mixture to wash the glue residue off the walls.

Wallpaper on drywall can be very difficult to remove, given todays adhesives. Try the aforementioned suggestions to see how they work for you.

Hi this is Peggy, I have removed wallpaper before and it is a slow hard job. We filled a spray bottle with hot water and fabric softener, make a slit in the wall paper and start spraying, peal it off . spray peal and spray. We also used a putty knife to strip the wall paper after it was wet, hard job good luck.
