Advice on where to place my steps on my front porch?

I'd like some opinions on where to place my steps on my front porch? A little history my house dates back to 1857. The driveway use to go around the house so on the south side is where the kitchen door is & the steps to the front door is to, but the driveway is on the north side. The contractors I hired are about ready to rebuild my porch with just plain 2x4 railings and supports. They could build me steps in the front and leave them on the side or I could just have 1 set of steps we usually go out the door mostly to our cars on the other side of driveway. Any thoughts I just don't want my house to look weird I'd probably put in pavers as a sidewalk as the sidewalk we have now is not very good shape. Just think steps should be on the side maybe centered up because its shorter to get to the front door when your on the porch otherwise if there in the front you have a long walk to the front door. Also my porch will be getting a roof I went with metal for the house. Any thoughts?

I would put the steps on the end of the porch giving a straight line to the door. And pavers across from the driveway if I understand where the driveway is. I love the house,,,,,Suzie Wolf

Thank you Suzie, THat was my original thought and then I started to over think it. The driveway is on the other side where those two windows are in the front

I would put the steps where the walk to the front door is the shortest, on the side. This way, you will have a portion of the porch that can be used to put some seating, a swing maybe, and a small table. If you put them in the front, it appears you would need to walk through most of your floor area, limiting seating area.

I'd leave them were they are...than you have a nice area for seating or a swing

Where is the 2nd outside door in the house? Is it more convenient to the garage? Definitely stairs on the side-simple supports. Lots of potential.
