What can for a bleach spot on my apartment carpet?

Unless you can locate someone to professionally dye the carpet to it's original color without damaging fibers, you may be stuck for replacement charges.

If you have a hot glue gun, this will work. cut the bleach spot out, cut clean lines in a square and pull it out. Find a closet with the same carpet and at the back corner of the closet cut out the same size square using the bleached square as a pattern. Remove the new patch and snip off any long strings or frays and test fit it in the first area. Pay attention to the weave and pattern of the patch, if it doesn't look right, rotate the patch till the weave looks best. Carpet has a weave that tends to lay one way or the other. So when it looks best or seems to disappear in place, then you want to first apply hot glue to the floor edges of the carpet securing the edges and then do the same on the edges of your patch and press into place. You can hold down till you're sure glue has set. snip off any threads the are obvious and then use a hair brush/ wide tooth comb, to blend the edges together. Replace the bleach patched in the closet. If your worried about the closet patch, find a permanent marker and color the bleach to make it less conspicuous. I have done this several times in rental properties and it works.

Another option is to get some craft fabric paints. Blend a few to get a close color. Water down the paint. Use a small paint brush and gently sweep over the spot with the paint brush and blend with the surrounding carpet fibers.

Good instructions from Joann. As a landlord, I've seen this done and oh so many other fixes by people who don't want to take responsibility for their goof ups! :) You might want to just be honest with your landlord, they may have extra carpeting that matches.
