Yammie, I have used it and was very pleased but it may depend on where your window is.

Window film works as long as the lights in the room are off at night.... then you need curtains or drapes too.

I had it on my sliding glass doors in NH. It was awesome even when it was muggy with the humidity in the summer and cold in the winter. Never had a problem. It looked great too!

Used on garage Windows .have four Windows on each door .to keep the sun out. .I sprayed each window with water .use a squeeze to smooth out .mine is a dark tint .you can buy a light tint .Wal-Mart or home depot .I take them off in winter and save for next year .they really keep the sun out .I use mini blinds in the house .close up to keep sun out and I can still see out . Good luck

Hi Yammie, if you don't care to see the landscape or view outside, but do want light, you can buy spray frost for your windows. I've used it before in a bathroom for privacy, but the filtered sun still shines through. It is available with other spray paints at any store that has spray paint. It gives a rather modern look and you can mask off a bit to make a design where the glass remains clear.

I used some of the cheap stuff from Walmart and loved it. Take time when installing it and better job you do for installation will give a better result.

Yes I have it on half my large kitchen window cause of too much sun destroying curtains - its been on for 16 years. I have decorative privacy film with green leaves on the high transom window in my bedroom to prevent too much light. I have also used privacy reflective film in the past but you can see in at night some because the light is coming from the room - it comes in four colors, and you can see out. Then the privacy films comes solid or with designs cut in. Amazon has the most amazing collection - https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=decorative+privacy+window+film

UV one-way stuff comes in 4 colors... HIDBEA https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=one+way+UV+window+film+in+four+colors&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Aone+way+UV+window+film+in+four+colors

We have covered 2 bathroom windows and are pleased with the results. We checked it at night for outside ability to look in and no problem. We are putting it on 2 more windows in the front of the house.

I have recently put window film up, and love it. I bought some with decorations. Don't buy the kind where you can see in the house from outside at night
