My rigid brand wet dry vacuum has hardly any suction. I have replaced the filter, checked the hose for leaks and the hose attachment. ?????

Hi Rob! You didn't mention a brand, but there may be a trouble shooting guide online for your brand since you have checked for obvious causes.

Hi! Have you removed the hose and checked to see if there is suction at the inlet?

If is suction, you have a clogged or pinched hose.

If no suction and the motor is running freely, check to see if there is any debris in your motor cage.

    I hope that helps

    😊

Hi kim, you were right!. I checked the inlet and there was good suction. So I checked the hose again and could not see through it. Then i used the blower and blew out the blockage ..a piece of cement and fiberglass caught all around it. Thank you so much for your help. Rob

How old is the unit, perhaps the motor is getting weak.

Drop a marble through the hose after to see if there's something jammed inside or try running water through it. .

Thanks, you were correct..the hose was clogged with a piece of cement and fiberglass strip. Rob

Hi Rob, glad you got it working again. I once had a rental unit and furnished the renters a vacuum cleaner. When they moved out I was vacuuming and it was so clogged it wouldn't pick up even a small piece of paper. The ENTIRE flex hose was filled with so much stuff I had to dig out bit by bit. UGH!
