The coffee helps to control pests and allows the natural worms to be helpful in adding air to the soil, and to help in producing profitable minerals for the plants. it is better to mix the coffee with the soil very early in the spring, a week before your planting season. I hope this helps.

Mom always tossed cooled used coffee grounds out the back door on her Hydrangeas. They were huge!! and would cover themselves in blooms.

Tomatoes like them too. Work some into the top soil around the plants
