How to update an entrance to this apartment?

Really want a bit of a wow or elegant statement entrance. 17cm r 6inches is wall either side of door .

Create a wooden frame around the door that can easily be removed without damaging the wall since this is an apartment. Find a colorful decorative tile that you like (photo attached) and tile the wooden frame. Replace the door mat with a 3 or 4 foot carpet runner in complementary colors and pattern.
A beautiful wreath, and large colorful door mat would be a quick and easy update.
Paint a very bright design on the surround to the door. Paint the door the same or opposing color (purple/orange?)
