Any ideas? Must be child & pet friendly. I've heard of placing liquids in a bowl on counter? Any ideas would be awesome! Thank you!!

Spray white vinegar around the areas where you see them.

Are they tiny ants or large black ants? We had the tiny ants in our bathroom & hallway. We used the TERRO liquid ant baits and it seems to have taken care of the problem. We have not solved the big black ant problem, but thankfully we don't have many of them. Hope this helps

Clean, clean and clean again. Ants leave scent trails. Spray with either a vinegar/water mx or a bleach/water mix. If you can find out where they are coming from, caulk that area if possible.

A girl I worked with had to leave the office for a while to meet an exterminator to get rid of ants in the kitchen. She came back and told us he said that the first few times you see ants, they are the "scouts!" If you get rid of these, they probably won't come back if they do not return to the hive.

I took everything off my counters and put the stuff on the table. I then sprayed with Windex and let it stand. I have Formica counters so I knew Windex would not hurt them. The next morning I cleaned up the dead ants, sprayed the counters with Clorox Kitchen Cleaner but did not put anything back on the counter. After dinner the second night, I did the same thing.

Someone got upset with me about using Windex. OK, I have used Rubbing Alcohol too and it works!
