A Glimpse Of What a Home Blogger's House Looks Like Everyday

I teamed up with a great group of blogger's last month to share what our homes look like day-to-day. Most blog readers, social media users, etc., don't want to see someone else's clutter when they are looking at a home decor picture. So, that clutter, the toys, the DIY mess.. it all gets picked up before the photos get taken. Sometimes though, that sends a negative message to all. It makes it seem like all houses are always cleaned up which is totally not true.

So today, here's a real glimpse of what my house looks like day-to-day.

You pull up to our front door and are greeted with only one wreath (although, my front porch did look super adorable a few weeks ago). The other wreath keeps falling off the second door, so I just plopped it on the bench outside and gave up.

To the right of the front doors, you see my landscaping or what's left of a landscaping project that I started weeks ago. I decided that our old landscaping as dating our house, so I ripped it all out. That also led to me taking off the shutters and deciding to leave the original boxwoods (after I had cut them back to nothing). So, yep... the landscaping is looking so great. Ha.

Up the stairs, you see our living room. I have art against the wall that I'm trying to sell, our space heater behind the couch that I just need to put up and electrical stuff from our new light that we installed. Let's be real here, some of this stuff has been here all week and I just walk by it.

I've been prepping for a pretty big styled shoot with Bed, Bath and Beyond (see the gorgeous brunch spread here) and so, I've had all sorts of products for the shoot laying all over my dining table. I think some of the products have been there for over a month!

Are you a bed maker? I will have to say that for the most part, I am. It makes me feel good to have a large part of our room look tidy. So, usually, our bed is made. But, whether or not there's things on the counter right in front of the bed... well, that's another story.
