I think you need something vertical to the left of the painting. You could hang an large, vertical ornate candle holder, or a wall planter. Or you could put some shelving there, or ornate branches. Or if you could buy a matching painting or one the same size but complimentary, I would hang the paintings vertically instead of horizontally and next to each other.

Most people are calmed by symmetry in their décor. You have a painting too wide for the width of the chair. There is also a rule of 3 that the eyes are wanting. Grouping things in threesome helps.

…. For instance, pull the table closer to the chair by a few inches and put the vertical lamp between the two. Hang your picture more on a diagonal with the higher point toward the lamp and the lowest point toward the hallway. Step back and see what that does for you.

Try putting the painting in the center of table and chair combined. Pull the floor lamp closer to the furniture.

I would agree you need something vertical, a large plant on the table or move the table to the other side of the chair and add a floor plant (tree) Move the lamp a little closer to the chair. There are no rules .Just play around If you decorate with the things you love , you will love your home.

I would suggest you hang the blue plate (that’s sitting on your table) in a grouping - along w a small decorative mirror and clock to the left of the painting. Useful as well as decorative collage wall.

I would hang the plate on the wall next to the painting. Move the table closer to the chair, center both under the plate and painting, with outer edges lined up. Also, move the lamp closer to the chair and put a pretty, large vase that ties the colors together on the table.
