I am assuming you mean the calcium build-up that sometimes forms around faucets. Vinegar will often remove it -- I would wrap the calcified area in papertowels then pour vinegar onto the towel until it is soaking wet. Let it stand for awhile (awhile depending on how bad the bui-up is). If that doesn't work, purchase a product called CLR that is a little more heavy-duty. Apply the same way as the vinegar.
I put the cleaning solution an a paper towel, soak it good, then make a rope of it and the put the rope arround the faucet over the lime scale.let sit but keep it moist. Check in 30 min. Scrub. Rinse. Repeat if needed.
I like CLR too, but you need to see if this is an on going leak or not. If these are old, I would say get new washers to go along with the cleaning effort. If you are the original owner of the house, these faucets may have a lifetime warranty and you can replace them thru the manufacturer - we did this and got new ones free.

I just use an old toothbrush and cleaning solution,
Do not use vinegar if your countertop is granite or marble.
